HOW TO READ OR LISTEN

There are now different new and useful ways to read or listen to a web page or document, rather than just to read it.

Of course we can simply read it, but other ways of reviewing it may be the best first option to help us make a choice on whether to go further to either read it, or listen to the whole thing.

One clear benefit of reading is the we get to see any graphics or images that are included, and in some cases that is really important to grasp the full message.

I also need to highlight that lower on this page are some reservations that we should have or be aware of with AI. And we need to be aware that these features are still evolving so different browsers or different document reader Apps have different possibilities, so it may be a case of selecting the right app. I don't specifically advise on that because the facilities are so dynamic and changing, but you can reasearch that for yourself.

One other thing to be aware of is - if your browser doesn't have the feature you want, then there is an option to print the page - probably to a PDF file, and then load the generated document into an App which has more features.

The best app may not be your default App for these type of files, so you may have to specifically browse for the file you created and then use the 'Open With' command to open it in the App of your choice. Apps with better features can always be found in the App stores, and you can make them your default app for the file type for convenience, if you wish.

The following lists the possibilities:

Listen To This Page

Some browsers have a menu command - 'Listen to this Page'. This is quick thinking AI at work, and what it does is - read the page; analyse it; and then automatically generate an audio preview, which may be presented as two people discussing it or co-presenting it.

AI Analysis

This feature exists in some Apps, and may now or later appear in Browsers. It is basically an extended version of the previous feature that allows you to listen to an AI generated audio about the page. Usually this will take longer, as it is more thorough, but the result is also longer and more detailed.

Read Out Loud

This feature exists in some Apps and Browsers. It is basically an audio presentation of exactly what is written on the page, verbatim. It certainly gives a more thorough delivery of the page, effectively turning it into a podcast. But it will still lack any information on the graphics or images included, which may be important.

Read The Page

Of course the final and best option is simply to read the page, if you want the most thorough review, including the benefit of any graphics.

AI WARNING

AI, though currently on the whole useful, is advancing at a scary rate, and not without problems.

Sometimes an AI will either lie, or modify its output according to some agenda. Maybe some political agenda. For that reason we must be careful how much we trust it as it may omit certain things that don't fit its agenda, or even modify them.

This may be specifically true of religious material, as in these pages, because there are certainly some anti biases out there. As such, for example, an AI may decide in its own interests to exclude this section that is warning about AI, which may be one good test, at least for a while until AI learns to manipulate that too.

One thing we can expect, that is more-or-less here, is for AI to generate a video or movie from a script like those in these teaching pages. That may also pad it out from other sources with compromising material, so that is something to be aware of that is in fact already happening now AI has come to understand our language.

Sooner or later it is likely to be necessary to choose a specific AI which is more trusted. Time will tell, but please be warned.
